Nike Poem

Our life is horrible, they torture us for no reason

we work so hard and they barely pay us any money

we work for 15 hours a day and all we get

is 1.25.......

our kids have to suffer with no education, and no place

to play But the dump, its full of broken Nike shoes,

the Nike shoes are burnt, and causing our kids

to catch asthmas and to develop cancers.

We wish for miracle to happen one day we wait

but nothing...........

if only, just if only, someone can help us escape this hell.

theres at least always a second chance.

1. How much do Nike workers make in Indonesia each day? How many hours a day do they work?

They earn 1.25 each day and they work 15 hours a day

2. What is life like for Indonesian Nike workers at home?

horrible its just torture

3. Why won’t Nike talk to Jim or Leslie or let them visit the shoe factory?

That way they wouldin't figure out about all the nonsence the people have to do and how much they have learn.

1. What does it mean to “make a decent living”? What should you be able to afford to buy?
a house,food,clothes,get health insurance, get a job,get a phone or any other electronics

2. Where do your sneakers come from? Who makes them?
i think shoes come from factories, and i think the people that work at the factories makes them.

3. What is a sweatshop (take a guess, even if you have no idea)?
i think a sweat shop is something that they test the shoes by putting sweat in the shoes.
